English
Engish is a real strength at Lighthouse with children’s reading skills exploding at age 5. We encourage confidence in speaking with our “show and tell” sessions where students talk in front of the class about something they have chosen to bring to school, promoting exceptional communication. We empower our NES teachers to craft individualised learning plans tailored to student’s strengths, interests, and pace of learning. This personalised approach not only enhances academic achievement but also promotes critical thinking, creativity, and a deep sense of curiosity, laying the foundation for lifelong success. Understanding The World
Exploring people, communities, the natural world & technology
Uunderstanding the world (UW) is the opening to science, social studies and geography. We integrate EYSF (Early Years – UK curriculum). Young explorers discover the amazing world around them! Children investigate nature, explore different cultures, meet community helpers, and learn about past and present. Through hands-on experiments, outdoor adventures, and technology play, little learners ask big questions about how things work.
PE
P hysical Education class is taught by our specialist teachers at our Kindergartens. Children build strength, coordination, and confidence through energetic games, dance, climbing, and outdoor play. They master fundamental movements like running, jumping, balancing, and throwing while developing fine motor skills through competitive activities.
Expressive Arts & Design
Arts and Creative focus’s on children’s creativity, imagination, and self-expression through art, music, dance, role-play, and technology, split into “Exploring and Using Media and Materials” and “Being Imaginative,” encouraging experimentation with different sensory experiences, sounds, colours, and textures to develop communication, understanding, and unique ideas.
Maths
Maths is discovering the magic of numbers. Young learners explore counting, shapes, patterns, and problem-solving through exciting games, songs, and hands-on activities. Children compare sizes, recognise shapes, and develop number confidence naturally through play. As they progress mathematical adventures expand to addition, subtraction, multiplication, fractions, money, and time—building strong foundations for lifelong numeracy skills through engaging, age-appropriate challenges!
Thai Language
Thai language at kindergarten starts K1 and is taught with initial focus on learning the Thai alphabet. Thai script practice is combined with cultural lessons. Experienced native Thai teachers deliver engaging lessons making learning fun enhancing students’ cross-cultural competence and deepens their appreciation of Thailand’s rich heritage while living in Phuket.
Healthy Happy & Social
Lighthouse children have exceptional social skills and form friendships that continue even beyond kindergarten. They are served healthy meals and snacks at school by our chefs at the canteen. Lighthouse runs ECA’s afterschool activites, the children go on field trips and enjoy celebrating birthdays at school. At the end of school the Lighthouse children come out in very positive mood.
