Stevie Jo Hill

My name is Teacher Stevie, and I am so happy to be part of the Lighthouse family.

I am now in my second year teaching at Lighthouse International School, which also marks my fifth year of teaching here on the beautiful island of Phuket. Over these years, I have been incredibly lucky to build meaningful relationships with so many wonderful young learners and their families, and I truly believe that teaching is about so much more than what happens inside the classroom.

I am honoured to represent our Primary Campus as Head of Faculty, a role that has allowed me to extend my nurturing nature beyond my own homeroom and support, encourage and celebrate children and teachers across our whole primary community.

My philosophy has always been simple: lead with love, enthusiasm and plenty of energy. I believe children learn best when they feel safe, valued and encouraged, and most importantly, when they are having fun. I love creating an energetic, engaging and joyful learning environment where every child feels confident to be themselves, make mistakes, ask questions, discover their strengths and grow at their own pace.

Every learner is wonderfully individual, and I take great pride in getting to know each child, understanding their needs and finding the little things that help them shine. Whether that means celebrating a small achievement, having a giggle together, offering a little extra encouragement or simply being there when they need someone, I believe that connection comes first.

I feel incredibly blessed to be part of a school that shares my belief in love, nurturing, community and putting children at the heart of everything we do. My hope is that every child who walks through our doors feels that they belong, that they are capable of amazing things, and that school is a place where they can learn, laugh, grow and make wonderful memories.
