Our grade 1 class ventured beyond classroom learning for a small adventure. We made a field trip to the beach which is very close to the Lighthouse International School Campus. Our Grade 1 students found out about tides, rock pool coverage, and the creatures that can be found in a Phuket Beach. The students explored the beach and observing their surroundings at low tide. They found washed up corals and shells, rock pools with fish, sea slugs and some mussels clinging to the rocks. It was truly an exciting and memorable learning day for sure.

Our Lighthouse students had a spectacular field trip to Intara Farm which was a short boat ride from Phuket. The field trip was immersive - as our students learned a lot about eco-friendly aquaculture practices like pearl cultivation and rearing salmon in floating nets. The staff were informative and gave discussions about fishes and aquaculture. Our young learners had a great time participating in activities like coastal clean-up, making tie-dyed shirts, and releasing snapper fish back into the sea. Truly an educational and informative field trip about aquaculture and environmental consciousness!
